Trying to be successful can feel very daunting when you're first starting a career in sales. The idea behind the visual identity was to show how selling can be fun while also being successful. My approach was to use colors that were inviting and playful self-portraits to bring the visual identity together. The book is about utilizing a sales strategy that aligns with your unique personality preferences. The graphic element in the logo was created to represent connecting the dots to find success. I was responsible for creating the brand identity, book cover, website, and promotional material.

Created as part of a cultural project, Abasto branding is a fully new project representing the neighbourhood of Abasto in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Like the neighbourhood itself, the branding is carefully designed with details that attract attention. Elements put together create a sense of indie and arts mixed on a single brand.
Many of the pieces created for this project include logotype, postcards, flyers, agendas, posters and signage. Everything tied by the feeling of walking through this old and grunge neighbourhood.
Acacia Lane is a web based business that sells Photoshop based templates to photographers. These are mostly in the form of special occasion card templates and to a lesser degree, marketing templates.
The owner already had an idea of what he wanted. The logo and website was to have a retro feel to it and to remind one of days gone by. A time when life was simpler. With this in mind I designed the logo to have a nostalgic feel to it, even the colour scheme was chose accordingly. The name plate and font used for the name also has a very retro, fifties feel to it. The flat topped Acacia is hand drawn and then redrawn as a vector.

Bobette Fisher Realty is a company based in South Carolina. It’s an umbrella company under a larger outfit.
Bobette came to me because she loved a vehicle wrap I created for another realtor. She wanted her vehicle wrap design to reflect the unique architecture of South Carolina.
Turns out Bobette liked the vehicle wrap design so much that she asked me to visually brand her company around the design. I ended up designing her brochures, business cards, and social media banners.

Bombon Dalfo creates the most delicious and beautiful, handcrafted chocolate bonbons. Its style is unique, memorable and just fantastic.

When the client's previous designer vanished without communication, I stepped in to continue the remainder of the series for Rhiannon Paille (for Wordfire Press). The client had already acquired the illustrations, fonts selections, logos, and embellishments, but needed someone who could replicate the style of the previous books seemlessly.
The Ghost Rebellion, by Tee Morris and Pip Ballantine. This series was originally published by two other traditional publishers, and the authors decided to continue the series independently, As such, it was necessary to retain a consistent look to the series to maintain the visual identity of the first four books. The clients provided models photographed in a custom shoot, which I then retouched, colorized, and manipulated within a scene complete with specialized lighting effects, completing the look with flourishes and typography consistent with the series. This design included print, digital, and audiobook formats.
The Heroine's Journey, by NYT Bestselling Author Gail Carriger. Non-Fiction. I've been working with Ms. Carriger for several years on her fiction titles, but in 2020 she presented me with the challenge of a non-fiction book. The concept was to evoke the feeling of the type of journey a character takes which differs from Campbell's often-studied hero's journey in regards to storytelling, as well as the ancient nature of the structure despite its lack of academic recognition. The client had several concepts in mind at the beginning, but we narrowed down the imagery to a female bust merged with an old stone staircase, as they also wanted a more artistic look than typical nonfiction titles. This required model and object selection first and foremost, followed by photo blending and texturizing the model's skin to match the stone stairway. The title typography was then shaped and dimensionally altered to appear integrated on the vertical surfaces of the steps. After comparison of several colors, the bright yellow and white of the typography provided the best contrast and visual appeal, as is necessary for nonfiction works and catching the eye of the target audience when shopping with digital retailers.

Octave Photonics is a company that works in physics/photonics. They design laser components that convert light from one color to other bright and vibrant colors. I created the logo, style guide, letterhead, invoice, and business cards for the company.

SL: Don’t touch a hot pan… get a massage
SL: Did you know that you’re hurting yourself? I can help...
Hey first name,
What’s with the subject line? Crazy right? I know… let me explain!
It’s a metaphor about pain and how we deal with it…
So, it’s Sunday morning breakfast… and Sunday morning is a time to be NOT healthy… so you’re cooking up some bacon. When you’re all finished, and that bacon is cooked to a crisp, you’ve drained that grease from the pan… the pan is still screeching hot. You press your hand onto the hot pan.
WOAH! I know… a terrible and painful thought…
So you're burning your hand and you want the scorching pain to end… what do you do?
Take your hand off the pan…?
You go to the doctor and get some painkillers! Of course, this isn’t what you would do… you’d take your hands off the pan. Now take a look at times that you have pain? How often are you numbing the pain instead of addressing it?
How often do you have knee pain but continue to run on that bad knee?
Do you ever feel sad and just numb it with some chocolate?
How often do you pop some Advil and carry on?
And I get it, sometimes you just don’t know how to address the pain, or you’re too busy or too tired… So, instead of numbing the pain let us help you find what is at the source of the pain and create a massage plan to help you relieve your pain. It’s just as simple as taking your hand off the pan! This is why I created the massage membership. So you can take the guesswork out of trying to solve your pain. You know that there is someone waiting for you at least once a month to relieve your pain and guide you in your healing journey. So take your hand off the pan and sign up for my massage membership. Your body will thank you.

Rick wanted a special logo that would embody his brand and his vision for his new specialty coffee company. The logo needed to capture the concept of transformation as Burwell Beans was all about transformational experiences and change.
The design solution uses two B’s from the name to shape a butterfly, a visual metaphor representing transformation, and a perfect match to the owner’s vision. In addition droplets were incorporated into the design to convey the liquid aspect of coffee.

Courtney, the founder of a boutique recruiting firm, had a strong passion for making connections. She wanted a logo which would convey her passion, act as a constant reminder of her mission, and visually communicate her services.
The solution involved skillfully embedding three ‘hidden’ hearts that were placed within the white space to visually communicate Courtney’s love and passion for connecting people. The primary color of red was chosen to communicate passion.

Chiara Trading is a business that mainly deals in the supply of packaging materials. The owner wasn’t sure what he wanted his logo to look like, so I was left to decide on my own.
The design is essentially two colours, with shades of each colour making up the rest. I decided to use a box to represent the packaging, which in turn is repeated within the box diagonally. The initials of the business name is also represented in the logo, in this instance the “C” is mirrored horizontally in black and the “T” is mirrored vertically, also in black. I also nestled the dot in the “i” of Chiara to further carry the idea of packaging and protection.
The client provided a relevant logo. From that point direction was clear.

The approved design outlined the shape of a multi-colored house which visually communicates that it will stay cool when it is hot outside, and that it will stay warm when it is cold outside. This was achieved by selecting warm colors for the outside the house while indicating cools colors on the inside, and the reverse was done in order to indicate the opposite. The font chosen was ‘impact’, and then slanted in order to convey energy.

The owners had approached me to redesign their existing website, something they had done themselves. They wanted a classy design, that would last them a long time and would be easy for them to update on their own. They has also wanted the photographs of their establishment to take center stage.
The colour palette employed is grey, black and a light shade of blue, which gives it a very relaxed classy feel, exactly the way this establishment feels when you are there.

FEMS is made up of an active and diverse network of around 30,000 professionals who are committed to advancing microbiology. Set up in 1974, today they are a growing coalition of more than 50 member societies.
The origins of their original logo date back to 1977, when the first issue of FEMS Microbiology Letters rolled off the press, 38 years before all their Journals became available as digital downloads. This branding project was a case of 'evolution not revolution' and the new logo needed to embody the client's demands: Its character should be inviting, welcoming people to get involved. It should show the vastness and diversity of the groups of scientists. It should help us to create connections across microbiology.

The branding for this business aims to capture and target people who like to go camping, enjoy the outdoors and those who want to spend time with family and friends away from city life. It also shows a relation to nature with its palette and chosen icons.

Love It Cover It are one of the largest specialist mobile phone and gadget insurers in the market, providing cover for almost 30 years. I have been working for LICI since 2015 on a variety of digital design projects. This brief was different - a synchronised campaign across multiple channels. Just 'imagine' the brand exposure with over five million passenger journeys a day.
Lulo Tapas & Wine Bar is a Spanish & Latin American restaurant in Melbourne. It’s located in the hub of restaurants on the eastern suburbs. Founded by Matthew Waldron, an extravagant chef with an eye for detail, the branding of this restaurant lets you immerse yourself in the Spanish bar around the corner in central Barcelona.
As a high-end destination for wealthy people who spend their lives travelling the world, the stationery design for this restaurant represented quality and sophistication. The flyers, vouchers and menus were printed on a silk paper, giving a sharp and edgy finish. The vibrant red gives a full and bold accent to the whole branding making it a huge visual identity element.

This is a logo design for Mirriam Karim who is a professional accountant. She uses her own name as her business name and was looking for a one colour logo design that communicated what she did and was in keeping with the look and feel that is associated with accountants.
In this instance, the logo is made up of her initials. I modified them so that they would resemble a pencil, an image which is commonly associated with accountants. I intentionally kept this logo flat coloured and very business like, as this was something that Mirriam wanted to portray.

Palais de Glace is a monumental art museum that’s part of the little neighbourhood of Recoleta in Buenos Aires, Argentina. These neighbourhood is often called ‘The Little Paris’ since it resembles the alluring French city.
The logotype aligns with the museum architecture itself and its easily abbreviated into a monogram. A simple yet edgy palette of darker hues and an accent of bright yellow, elevates the branding of this museum to a whole new level, giving it a brand-new, avant-garde style.
Many of the pieces created for this project include logotype, postcards, flyers, agendas, posters and signage.

SL: How to show support for LGBT Businesses
Hey First Name,
I caught an article the other day about The Corporate Pride Logo Invasion that happens every June. It seems like everyone has a different opinion! Some say it's gimmicky and some say it's good for visibility. Do these corporations really support the LGBT community? Or are they just virtue signaling? I don’t have a definitive answer but I can give you one solid way to support the LGBT community during pride.
SUPPORT LGBT-Owned Businesses! Buy their products!
Now, I’m not saying, go stuff your closet with a bunch of things you don’t need from LBGT-Owned businesses! ONLY buy things that you want or need, but when you are ready to buy try to find an LGBT-Owned business that can solve your problems.
If you have coffee problems then we can help by delivering you the best fair-trade (and beyond) coffee every month.
Receiving that first box… you gently tear open the freshly roasted coffee and that smoky-sweet aroma fills your nose.
You pour those beans into your grinder... the blades spins crushing those precious beans to pieces...
Hot water cascades over those grounds and the air is filled with a wonderful aroma...
Your body begins to melt with excitement and desire...
Moments later… you are sitting relaxed on your couch… hands wrapped around your favorite mug warmed by that tasty brain-fuel… and sip… you have truly come home again…
It tastes perfect, your whole body buzzes with life and vibrancy....
You’re ready for the day.
And you know three things…
Remember I said, don't buy anything you don't want or need... just to support LGBT-Owned businesses... but really... can you pass this up?
Click the link below.
I want the best beyond fair trade coffee NOW!
PS: Want to become a coffee connoisseur? Try our starter box which comes with tons of goodies: an elegant french press for the best brew, a fancy glass jar for your beans, a metal scoop and more! Click here: I want to become a coffee connoisseur!
A creative print ad showcasing the new range of roofing tiles on offer
The staff at Print Resource knew their logo could be updated and improved as their logo at the time contained a registration mark placed above the letter “i”. This was commonly done by printers and offered very little differentiation or uniqueness.
The new logo design and concept represented four colored paper sheets flying off of a printing press, and it also suggested 4-color printing. In addition, the arrows represented directing the customer’s printing to the right printing press at the right place. A tag line was added to reinforce the logo and company differentiation.

Sawasdee Thai Elevated Restaurant is a high-end Thai cuisine Restaurant in Plainview, New York. Not only do they have great gourmet food but the restaurant itself is an experience in itself.
I worked closely with the interior designer and CEO of Horst Design International to concept the visual brand after the unique architecture of the restaurant. Working from the interior design plans I designed the logo, menus, signage, and most of the marketing material for the restaurant. I also illustrated the Elephant Curtains murals and restroom wraps.
Sawasdee Thai Elevated became a popular dining experience on Long Island and a visual experience for their patrons.
The Director of Marketing at Sciessent wanted three attention-grabbing retractable banners for an upcoming tradeshow. Each banner would represent a core product that Sciessent offers.

I strategize, implement, and track organic search marketing campaigns for all types of businesses. Helping them gain a digital edge to elevate their brand online and seeing the results is one of the most satisfying things in SEO. Am a creative chameleon who can write across any industry or service and have it ring true for the right audience, whether it's buyers, retailers, distributors, or consumers. The brief for this project called for the creation of an Offer Page for the launch of Sprint's Unlimited Data campaign. The style should be fun, modern and possibly edgy while remaining faithful to the brand. I submitted one version for approval but created various different versions for the practice. Sprint recently merged w T-Mobile so I thought it would be fun to create T-Mobile versions as well.

Steps at eXp Realty was a real estate brokerage that focused on delivering exceptional experiences during the process of buying or selling a home. We focused on creating a brand identity that focused on the importance of home and the memories you make. Black and white photography was used to give the brand a timeless look. My role was to bring the brand together with the existing logo. Additional complementary colors were added to tie in the black-white photography and the logo.
StompnU Customs is a custom knife company created by Robert Trout, aka “Stomp”. Robert is one of my favorite people to work with. His enthusiasm for his product is contagious.
Roberts was working on a website himself and I suggested he get some professional photos taken. I was able to set up a shoot for him and helped art direct the shoot. I also retouched his photos to give them a grittier look. The illustration work was a personal project for me, which I later used for a cinematic style video to advertise his company. You can view the video on the motion reel link.

This is a another personal project for my photography business. In this instance I wanted a more luxurious, upmarket feel for the business. Keeping that in mind I designed the logo along the lines of a fashion logo. I used the actual signature that I sign my prints as the logo itself.
This particular business was created to offer photographic services for mainly women. I wanted to create photography that would uplift women and help them fall in love with themselves.
The colour palette was intentionally kept to black and white with shades of grey, in order to give it a more upmarket, classy feel.

When my small hometown in Indiana was ravaged by a COVID-19 outbreak in May, I designed and executed a t-shirt campaign to benefit United Way of Cass County’s coronavirus relief. Over $300 was raised, and the sight of the shirts around town inspired a sense of togetherness that many in the community had missed. I designed the logo for the t shirts and posts for Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

With a $300+ million operating budget, the Met needed to break free of its ‘elite audience’ perception and attract new audiences while still delivering on the expectations of longtime customers.
A strategic brand positioning platform called THE VOICE MUST BE HEARD. With striking images, a recruitment initiative using celebrity talent, a print campaign and a dedicated website: thevoicemustbeheard.com. We directly targeted younger audiences with a fashion project called lastnightatthemet.com.
The Met benefitted within the year with the sale of 6,000+ additional individual tickets, a 10% year-over-year increase. The majority of new ticket sales came from first time opera goers.
The National Archives, Kew briefed me to design an extensive range of print and digital promotional materials for their 'Protect and Survive Britain's Cold War Revealed' season. I presented five concepts in triptych form. This decision was inspired by artist Francis Bacon who painted triptychs between 1944 and 1986, which coincides with the timeline and captures the atmosphere of geopolitical tension.
The chosen concept was then developed into a playful campaign with messages to reach and engage with diverse target audiences. Using a carefully sampled 1980s colour palette and photography of instantly recognisable ‘retro’ objects to help portray a variety of perspectives. Eurostile typography also played an important role in telling the story.

The UK’s road bike market has gained major momentum since the London Olympics, while mountain biking has always enjoyed traction with a hardcore following. Pitching a re-branding project to Thorn Cycles, I aimed to inject that same passion and pride into the touring bike market. Not completely re-inventing the wheel, but certainly helping the brand go up a few gears.
With the innovative Thorn Cycles iWatch app you can locate and unlock your bike, search for the nearest bike repair centre, track and share your rides via social media and compete in challenges to earn rewards. Like their touring bike models, the app would be feature rich, agile and adaptable to whatever terrain or situation the rider encounters. Delivering a seamless user experience - designed to avoid saddle soreness!
Tiger Cookware is a manufacturing based business whose products can be found all over Southern Africa.
I was approached to design the packaging that some of their cookware is transported in. The brief was to create a clean, modern design that allowed the product photography and logo to stand out. With this in mind, I kept to a very neutral palette, employing mostly shades of grey and white. The only place other that the logo and photography that has a significant pop of colour is the name of that particular set of pots.
Two sides needed to be designed as the design repeats itself.
"Towernators" is one ad in a series of branding print advertisements that I helped create for DMI Industries, a wind tower manufacturer, formerly of West Fargo, N.D. I developed the concepts, headlines and copy for the ads, which were intended to stand out among other ads in wind energy trade publications and build brand recognition for DMI. We were building a brand based on DMI as a high-quality, hard-working and reliable manufacturer that built quality into every part, process, weld and coating. As the headline of another ad in the series stated, for DMI quality was black and white - something either was high quality or it wasn't, and if it wasn't, DMI would do it over again.

During this 7 month contract role we started with contextual and competitive research of other doctor search platforms and products using travelers insurance as a tool. I wrote a survey that was answered by 71 people through mechanical turk, and mediated 30 user interviews. After our initial research we were led to a pivot in the product goals and we began working on the informational architecture, site map and personas related to this new product.

In 2018, First State Bank of North Dakota purchased several banks in South Dakota and, therefore, needed to change its name. The company needed to build its brand identity in its new markets while assuring customers in existing markets that it was still the bank they, their parents and grandparents had come to know and trust over the course of more than 115 years in business. Part of that plan was to carry forward the brand positioning line I developed several years earlier - "Values-Based Banking." This TV ad was part of a much larger campaign that also included customer communications, public relations, print advertisements, radio spots and more. I wrote the script, gathered royalty-free video from which the spot was produced and oversaw production. To learn more - https://fredrickscommunications.com/my-work/banknorth/

There are different roles in the community (administrator, guard, resident) with a possible overlap, meaning that one person can belong to multiple communities. Hence, they should be able to switch between these. Furthermore, it was crucial to design a super easy-to-use app.
The 1st April was a traumatic day for tennis fans all over the globe. It was the day the board of the All England Lawn Tennis Club announced that The Wimbledon Championships 2020 would be cancelled, due to ‘public health concerns linked to the coronavirus epidemic’. This sowed the seed. I wanted to give something back to the tennis community, whilst raising awareness and hopefully some donations for the frontline NHS staff. I curated an online collection of Wimbledon themed resources.
Hopefully 'Tennis Recreated' will engage and inspire tennis fanatics during the lockdown and beyond. Having involved the AELTC from the concept stage - they granted permission for me to launch but it is not affiliated with either the AELTC or the LTA.
